USDOT's "OMG" Campaign to Educate Teens about Risks for Distraction-Related Car Accidents in Orlando, Nation 150
A bill that could potentially prohibit drivers in Florida from texting at the wheel passed the State transportation committee recently.  It's not official yet, as it has a long way to go before it's put into effect.  Florida is one of the last few states that has yet to enact some sort of ban on drivers and texting.  Distraction-related car accidents in Orlando will continue to be a top concern with drivers left to text and chitchat as they please behind the wheel.

Risks of Back-Over Accidents in Orlando Increase through Holiday Season 132
According to the NHTSA, there were more  than 290 people killed and another 20,000 injured every year because of back-over accidents.  Of those fatally injured in these accidents, more than 225 of them involved a motor-vehicle that weighs less than 10,000 pounds.  The NJHTSA recognizes the risks that elderly and child pedestrians face for these accidents.  As a matter of fact, nearly 45 percent of these fatalities typically happen to those under the age of 5.  This is an alarmingly high percentage for any type of accident.  Another 35 percent happens to those over the age of 69.
